November 8, 2009: Q-25 Pylon Series Race #7 at TxWings Club Field. This is the last Q-25 Pylon Race at Texas Wings for 2009 so pilots, spectators, and Club Members come out to support the races.
Jerry Small should be coming to this race to demonstrating his new (EF-1) Electric Formula 1 Pylon Racer he designed. The white model pictured is Jerry's first scratch design / built prototype while the yellow one is the first production prototype ARF racer received. This ARF racer should be available in the spring of next year. Specs: 50" wingspan, 375 sq in wing area, and 3-1/4 lbs. ready to fly. It's a pylon racer, but it flies like a sport plane solid and fast. Here is one for all you electric flyers!
Jerry and I along with all our other race personal are working on having an electric formula 1 class in 2010 to race alternating heats during our Q-25 races. This would allow same day racing with two different classes.
Hope to see you at the races!
Gene H.
